Ethical Power appoints Rachel Ruffle as COO

Rachel has 25 years of experience in the renewable energy sector and expertise in leading businesses and teams across the value chain, in various technologies and markets. Her most recent role was as CEO of EMEA and Group Executive Board member at RES, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company. She was also a member of The Renewables Infrastructure Group’s (TRIG’s) Advisory Committee since its inception in 2013 and a director of industry trade bodies: Wind Europe, Energy UK and Renewable UK.

On her appointment, Rachel says: “If we are to transition our energy system to net zero and reduce energy costs, then now is the time for a purpose-led organisation like Ethical Power to scale up their operations and meet the demand for clean, green and low-cost renewable energy”.

“I’m very excited to step into the role of COO of this exceptional company. Ethical Power is well positioned to deliver on the green energy transition thanks to its vertically integrated capabilities. It has shown an incredible pace of growth so far, and it’ll be a great privilege to use my experience to drive further progress. In the years to come we can achieve new heights of success and innovation, for people and the planet.”

Thomas Kneen, CEO and Founder of Ethical Power Group, comments: “This is an incredibly important appointment for Ethical Power, and I’m thrilled to have Rachel fill the post. She’ll play an instrumental role in driving our growth and delivering on our ambitions for 2024 and beyond.”

Rachel joined Ethical Power Group at the end of April, soon after the company announced acquisition of a leading high-voltage service provider in the UK, almost doubling the Group’s workforce in the UK and significantly expanding on the Group’s range of in-house capabilities.
