We are a responsible business, conscious of the impact that all our actions have on the environment, the people and the future of our planet. Our ESG commitments reflect our core values and business ambition, aiming to create a positive legacy for the people and the planet:
- Environment: Lead in sustainable growth and excel in the quality of builds,
- Social: Improve long-term investment in communities, be it through education, engagement and financial support,
- Governance: Operate with integrity at heart.
The Environment
We believe our role is not only to combat climate change but to steward the environment so that it can flourish for generations to come. This extends beyond building our green energy capacity.
Ethical Power proactively develops the land we work on, often far exceeding the government-mandated 10% Biodiversity Net Gain target.
We also believe in the power of community engagement in environmental stewardship and support endeavours to help people become active participants in the fight against climate change.
Social Responsibility
Ethical Power is its people. This holds true for all communities.
Just as we invest in our team, we believe it is equally important to invest in the next generation to help them thrive.
From helping caring initiatives to working with schools, Ethical Power stands firm in its commitment to supporting children. This is why we have selected the Children’s Hospice South West as our Charity of the Year.
Governance
As an ethical brand, we foster collaborative work and are focused on delivering feasible solutions in a sustainable and responsible manner. We are an equal-rights employer, prioritising the safety of our staff and offering development opportunities and a fair and supportive working environment.
As of October 2024, over 26% of our employees are female. While this is at least 10% more than the industry average, demonstrating the success of our Equal Opportunities Policy, we continue to promote the hiring of female employees within our industry through inclusive working environments and initiatives.
Charity of the Year 2025 - Mind
Mental health is an important issue for most people, but it is especially pressing in the construction industry, with a 2020 Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) report finding that 97% of construction workers had felt stressed, 87% had experienced anxiety, and 70% had experienced depression during the previous year.
When our team voted to select the 2025 Charity of the Year, Mind was the landslide winner, taking nearly half of all votes. Why Mind? Because Mind won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.
Our goal is to raise £15,000 for this amazing organisation. You can help by donating here.
