Design

Practical knowledge for improving the construction process and optimising design

Our highly experienced in-house design team has a vast amount of renewable energy expertise. This allows the team to assess and optimise every design decision based on extensive past experience and tailored to each project’s unique criteria.

We’re not just expert operators of high-spec solar PV design tools, we also collaborate to custom develop the software. We work with the software designers to improve the engineering tool’s design capabilities by incorporating elements of the design work. And that, in turn, speeds up the process.

Our experience in building and then operating via our O&M business builds practical knowledge for improving the construction process and optimising the design further with each new development. The high level design tools allow us to push the performance of sites without compromise in other areas, both on the technologies and processes we specify, and the performance and yields we forecast.

We’re proud of our innovative, high quality buildable designs, even for tricky sites, which pass through planning efficiently and with minimal need for re-engineering when it comes to construction.

Grid Connection

We deliver connections

Ethical Power Connections is a turnkey high voltage electrical contractor, an Independent Connection Provider (ICP) and an Ethical Power Group company.

We’re accredited up to 132kV and have completed connections to all of the UK’s distribution networks. As a turnkey High Voltage electrical contractor we’ve completed multiple Balance of Plant (BOP) contracts for some of the most prestigious clients within the renewables industry. Our BOP contracts typically cover electrical, mechanical and civil scope of works.
We’ve also diversified recently in order to carry out newly emergent National Grid transmission network projects.

Our in-house engineers are manufacturer trained. And we’re working to set industry standards developing new City & Guilds accredited training focusing on DC authorisation, in a partnership with a leading training provider. Our engineers go through an external high voltage authorisation process to ensure a high standard is kept within the company.

Asset Management

Experienced team

Combining a highly successful track record of site development and construction, with leading asset management and governance expertise, we offer a fully integrated service for all incoming investors.

Laser-like focus on adding value

We maximise all financial value from Ethical Power’s renewable energy assets. We model and forecast asset performance, track market trends, negotiate deals and research new revenue opportunities, optimising great returns for our investors.

Ethical Power funds

Ethical Power has opened two fund options for the solar pipeline since 2021 Hive-Ethical UK Solar Limited (HEUKSL) and Lynher Energy.

Hive-Ethical UK Solar Limited

HEUKSL runs a private equity fund which constructs, operates, and then sells solar investments. The fund is set up for a 5-year hold period but maintains the flexibility to react to any opportunity for further investment or early divestment.

Lynher Energy

Lynher Energy is a joint venture between Ethical Power and Napier Park global capital. The JV will acquire and develop large scale solar and battery storage assets in the UK, EU and international market.
