Bowerhouse II - Opening Ceremony

On 9th June, we had the pleasure of welcoming visitors to the Bowerhouse II solar site for an official opening ceremony.

Managed by LASER Energy on behalf of owners Kent County Council, this impressive 21MW solar park has been an exceptional example of sustainable energy generation since its completion in 2022. As the dedicated Operations & Maintenance team responsible for ensuring its continued performance, we were excited to showcase the inner workings of the site and demonstrate our commitment to excellence.

With plenty of sunshine, the weather could not have been more perfect for our visitors to explore the Bowerhouse II solar park. Among our guests were Nigel Hartnup (Managing Director, LASER Energy), Kane Stockwell (Net Zero Energy Supply Lead, LASER Energy) and Susan Carey (Cabinet Member for Environment, Kent County Council). Representing Ethical Power were Neil Buck (Managing Director, Operations) and Stuart Whiteford (Chief Commercial Officer), who each gave introductions & thanks. Their overarching sentiments highlighted the importance of renewable energy and how solar sites like Bowerhouse II play such an integral role in meeting public sector sustainability goals.

Our experienced site engineer, Jon Dwyer, lead the site tour providing an overview of the solar park’s layout and systems. He showed our guests around the Bowerhouse II project explaining how Ethical Power operates and maintains the site daily.

The site visit provided an invaluable opportunity for us to meet our clients and partners from LASER Energy and Kent County Council. Hosting opening ceremonies like these is a great way to showcase our expertise to the wider team and further develop our relationship as we enter into the operational phase of 30+ years for the project.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Bowerhouse II solar park site visit. The ongoing enthusiasm and engagement of all attendees has been greatly appreciated and we look forward to further working together in the future!
