Delivered by Ethical Power as EPC contractor, Chestnut Solar Farm now provides enough renewable electricity to power approximately 12,000 homes at peak generation and represents another successful addition to the UK’s growing renewable energy infrastructure.
The project presented a range of complex delivery challenges, including flood risk areas and archaeological constraints. Through close collaboration and considered engineering, the project team successfully navigated these requirements while maintaining focus on programme, quality and long-term performance.
In addition to renewable generation, Chestnut Solar Farm incorporates a number of environmental and community measures, including an impressive 81.88% Biodiversity Net Gain, as well as wider site improvements designed to deliver long-term local benefits.
Stephen McShane, Project Director, Ethical Power, said:
“Achieving PAC at Chestnut marks the successful completion of a technically complex and highly rewarding project for our team. Projects like this demonstrate what can be achieved through strong collaboration, experienced delivery teams and a shared commitment to quality.
Chestnut presented several interesting site challenges, but our team approached them with the same focus we bring to every project: finding practical solutions that support successful long-term outcomes.
We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to bringing this project to completion, especially Nick Barber, Infraland Director, and the entire Infraland team for their support and collaboration throughout our long-term partnership. Our thanks also go to the National Grid team, whose expertise and engagement played an important role in supporting the project through key delivery milestones.
We are proud to have delivered another high-quality renewable energy asset and look forward to building on this success together as we continue delivering projects that strengthen energy security and accelerate the transition to a more sustainable future.”
